Monthly payroll

The routine that should never be exciting

Monthly payroll ought to be the least dramatic thing in your business. When it is not, it is usually because it depends on one person remembering.

Overview

Boring, on purpose.

Monthly payroll is a routine: collect the changes, process, check, approve, submit, report. The risk is not complexity — it is that it sits with one person alongside their real job, and goes wrong the month they are on holiday.

We take the routine, run it to a fixed timetable, and give you a named contact who knows your business rather than a support queue.

  • A fixed monthly timetable agreed with you
  • Salary, hourly and mixed workforces
  • Starters, leavers and mid-month changes
  • Salary sacrifice and benefit deductions
  • Statutory sick, maternity, paternity and adoption pay
  • Student loan and postgraduate deductions
  • Attachment of earnings orders
  • Pension assessment, enrolment and contributions
  • Digital payslips issued to employees
  • RTI submission on or before payday
  • P45s, P60s and year-end reporting
  • Reports for your accountant and pension provider

Queries raised early

Anything that looks wrong comes back with a question.

Payslips distributed

Digitally, to your employees, on schedule.

Submissions filed

Questions

Common questions

It depends on the number of employees, the complexity of your pay structure and what you need alongside the run. We quote in writing on your actual position — we do not publish a headline price that changes once we see the detail.

Yes, and it is very common. We take the year-to-date figures from your current system or provider, verify them, and continue from there. Moving at the start of a tax month is cleanest but it is not a requirement.

We assess employees, calculate contributions and produce the files your provider needs. We can submit those to most of the main providers. The scheme itself remains yours, and the employer duties under automatic enrolment stay with you.
